💡 Quick Summary — 4 Things to Take Away

EMIYA (Archer)
Fate/stay night

  • EMIYA (Archer) from Fate/stay night tops my "strongest overall" ranking, and it isn't close among the archers I'm treating as comparable — Projection Magic strips away the physical draw-weight ceiling every other archer on this page has to live with. Madoka Kaname's ascension-form arrow technically scores higher, but I set it aside as a narrative outlier rather than a real data point; run her against EMIYA in the Live Combat Simulator below and she can still win, since that tool carries no such exclusion.
  • I split the roster into four combat classes so I'm never comparing archers who were never trying to answer the same question in the first place: Mystical/Spiritual (Reishi, miko energy, curses), Traditional Kyudo (form and psychological focus, zero combat framing), Fantasy/Magical Weapon (reality-bending projection), and Tactical/Survivalist (fieldcraft and a real draw-weight ceiling).
  • The 12-row matrix below turns lore feats into the same Base DPS, Effective Range and Armor Piercing fields I already use on ArcheryEra's real-world Kinetic Energy & Momentum Calculator for actual arrows.
  • The Live Combat Simulator right below runs the same distance-decay and terrain-multiplier math a real ballistics model would — I just pointed it at fictional stat sheets instead of chronographed arrow speeds.

Twelve archers, four combat classes, one scoring system I built myself: this page turns anime archery feats into a testable stat matrix instead of another unranked list. By my model, EMIYA (Archer) from Fate/stay night comes out on top of the "strongest overall" ranking, because Projection Magic lets him manifest Noble Phantasm-tier arrows with no physical draw-weight limit — the same limit that caps every Traditional Kyudo and Tactical/Survivalist archer here. Power-scaling threads on r/Fate and Type-Moon wikis get there the same way I do: by setting Madoka Kaname's reality-altering finale arrow aside as a narrative event rather than a comparable data point, since nothing else on this page operates on that scale. The live simulator right after this paragraph doesn't apply that exclusion — it's a raw stat calculator, so testing Madoka against EMIYA there directly can still swing her way, which is exactly what you'd expect from running the numbers yourself rather than reading a ranking. Every archer below gets a Base DPS, Effective Range and Armor Piercing Tier rating — open the simulator and check any pairing before you read another word.

Most "best anime archer" lists on the open web are just unranked bullet points, mixing Olympic-style Kyudo characters with reality-warping magical-girl finales like they belong on the same axis. They don't. That's the gap I built this page to close: none of those lists separate lore accuracy from combat output, none of them account for engagement distance or terrain, and none of them model draw-weight and stamina limits the way an actual archery ballistics framework would. I treat those as four separate, comparable fields instead of a vibe. Try it yourself below.

Pick an attacker and a defender, set the engagement distance and battlefield terrain, and run the same scoring formula behind the EMIYA vs. Uryu Ishida case study further down this page on any of the twelve archers I've rated. The tool is fully deterministic — the same two archers, distance and terrain will always give you the same result, the way a real calculator should.

Simulation Methodology: How the Algorithm Works

Every result from the Live Combat Simulator right above and the EMIYA-vs-Uryu case study further down this page comes from the same five-step formula, run client-side in plain JavaScript with no server round-trip. I collapsed the five steps below by default — click any of them open if you want the actual math; skip past this section if you just came for the archers.

Step 1 — Base DPS & Stat Rating (1–100 Scale)

Every archer's Base DPS, Armor Piercing and Tactical IQ figures are rated on a 1–100 scale, synthesized from documented lore feats (weapon range claims, on-screen power displays, stated mechanics) cross-checked against community power-scaling consensus on Reddit, Discord and franchise wikis. A rating is not a chronographed measurement the way a real arrow's velocity is — it's my own structured translation of qualitative feats into a comparable quantitative field.

Step 2 — Distance Decay Formula

Plain text: DPS_eff = Base_DPS when engagement distance D is at or inside effective range R; otherwise DPS_eff = Base_DPS × e^(−alpha × (D − R)), with alpha = 0.0022.

Standard notation:

DPS_eff = DPS_base,                         D ≤ R
DPS_eff = DPS_base · e^(−α(D−R)),        D > R
α = 0.0022

An archer who is still within their own effective range takes no distance penalty at all — the case study further down this page uses exactly this property, since 500m sits inside both EMIYA's 1,200m and Uryu's 850m ranges. Push the distance slider past an archer's range and the exponential term compounds every additional meter beyond it.

Step 3 — Environmental Multipliers by Terrain and Class

Terrain applies a flat multiplier to Base DPS, keyed to combat class rather than to the individual archer. Tactical/Survivalist archers get a bonus in cover (Dense Forest ×1.15, Urban Area ×1.10) reflecting fieldcraft training. Traditional Kyudo archers take the steepest penalty (Dense Forest ×0.75, Urban Area ×0.80) since their entire skill set assumes a clear, formal shooting lane. Mystical/Spiritual and Fantasy/Magical Weapon archers take a reduced penalty (Dense Forest ×0.90, Urban Area ×0.925) — my way of encoding that a Reishi-tracked or projected arrow partially ignores physical foliage and structures a fletched shaft cannot.

Step 4 — Armor Piercing vs. Magic Resistance

Plain text: base modifier = (Attacker_AP − Defender_AP) / 100. If the attacker's class is magical (Mystical/Spiritual or Fantasy/Magical Weapon) and the defender's is not, that modifier is amplified ×1.3 — magical projectiles bypass physical armor more easily than a fletched shaft would. If the attacker is physical (Traditional Kyudo or Tactical/Survivalist) and the defender is magical, the modifier is reduced ×0.6, since a conventional arrow struggles against spiritual or conceptual defense. Same-category matchups (magical vs. magical, physical vs. physical) use the base modifier unamplified — exactly the case in the EMIYA-vs-Uryu study, where both archers are magical-class and the modifier applies at full value.

Step 5 — Tactical IQ Factor & Final Win Percentage

Plain text: Tactical_Factor = 1 + (Attacker_IQ − Defender_IQ) / 500, then Combat_Score = DPS_eff × Terrain_Mult × (1 + Armor_Modifier) × Tactical_Factor, and finally Win% = Score_A / (Score_A + Score_B) × 100. The 500-point divisor keeps Tactical IQ a meaningful tiebreaker rather than a dominant swing factor — a 20-point IQ gap moves the final win split by roughly four percentage points, enough to matter in a close matchup without overriding a large DPS or Armor Piercing gap on its own.

⚠️ When Not to Take This Literally

Avoid If: you're looking for an objective, cross-canon "who would actually win" ruling. Every rating here is my own synthesized scoring model, not a franchise-sanctioned statistic, and entries like Madoka Kaname's ascension-form arrow are capped at the model's maximum specifically because they operate outside a distance-and-terrain framework entirely. Treat every simulator output as a structured discussion prompt, not a verdict.

🗣️ Myth-Busting: The Generic "Anime Archers Ranked" Gap

Myth: A single unranked list can meaningfully compare a Kyudo-accurate character like Minato Narumiya against a reality-bending one like Madoka Kaname.

Reality: They're not answering the same question. Tsurune is explicitly staging psychological, technical archery with no combat framing at all, while Madoka's finale is a narrative event operating outside cause-and-effect distance mechanics entirely.

Most generic "best anime archers" roundups skip this distinction and rank both on one undifferentiated list, which is exactly the gap the four-class system and the Live Combat Simulator's terrain-and-distance math are built to close.

I send weekly breakdowns of new matchups, new archers going onto the simulator's roster, and upcoming Simulation Lab tools through the newsletter before anything else — the signup is in the footer below. If you came here for the character names rather than the combat math, our Archer Name Generator is the more playful sibling tool on this site.

Who Are Anime's Most Powerful Mystical and Spiritual Archers?

Mystical and spiritual archers draw on an energy source instead of a physical quiver — Reishi, miko purification power, a demon's curse, or an equivalent — which is why I score their "ammunition" constraint as stamina, not arrow count. Uryu Ishida rates highest in this class at 82 Base DPS in my model, since Quincy technique converts collected Reishi directly into projectile mass with no drag losses from fletching or shaft flex.

Uryu Ishida (Bleach) — Quincy Reishi Archery

Uryu Ishida stat card — Bleach, Mystical/Spiritual class, 82 DPS, 850m range, 78 armor piercing, 74 tactical IQ

Uryu is a Quincy from Tite Kubo's Bleach — a bloodline that hunts Hollows with an entirely spiritual bow, the Ginrei Kojaku, strung from collected Reishi instead of a physical riser and limbs. No riser also means no draw weight in the normal sense. Reishi density stands in for poundage: pull in more particles, the shot hits harder. It's a let-off curve with no cam to cap it.

Run that same shaft through ArcheryEra's Dynamic Spine & Shaft Flex Calculator and it breaks the tool immediately — there's no mass to accelerate and no spine to match against a cam profile. I spent most of one season chasing a mismatched spine on a recurve build, watching arrows porpoise no matter what I did to rest tension. Uryu skips that headache entirely by not having a shaft. His 850m effective range is really just Reishi coherence thinning out with distance, not arrow drop or wind drift the way a real miss usually happens.

Kagome Higurashi (Inuyasha) — Miko Purification Arrows

Kagome Higurashi stat card — Inuyasha, Mystical/Spiritual class, 68 DPS, 150m range, 70 armor piercing, 58 tactical IQ

Kagome is a modern-day miko in Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha whose sacred arrows purify demonic Youkai on contact, a mechanic drawn directly from the real Japanese Shinto hamaya, or demon-breaking arrow, tradition rather than invented from scratch. Her draw is explicitly untrained early in the series — she improves through repetition, the same curve a real archer's group size follows over a season of range time.

Her 70 Armor Piercing rating reflects an asymmetry real ballistics doesn't have: a purification arrow is rated as near-useless against a human-scale physical target but close to maximum against a spiritually corrupted one, which is exactly the "armor piercing vs. magic resistance" split the Live Combat Simulator near the top of this page models explicitly rather than averaging away.

Ashitaka (Princess Mononoke) — A Curse That Works Like a Second Power Source

Ashitaka stat card — Princess Mononoke, Mystical/Spiritual class, 80 DPS, 200m range, 88 armor piercing, 80 tactical IQ

Ashitaka is the exiled Emishi prince at the center of Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke, and I'm putting him in Mystical/Spiritual rather than Traditional Kyudo because his bow isn't actually where his power comes from — a curse is. He kills Nago, a boar god corrupted into a demon by an iron ball buried in its flesh, to protect his village, and the same corrupting hatred spreads through his own arm afterward as a mark.

What that curse does in combat terms is grant him bursts of strength and precision a trained arm and a real yumi couldn't produce alone — enough to take a man's arms off with a single shot, which is my justification for his 88 Armor Piercing rating, the highest of any Mystical/Spiritual archer here. I still capped his effective range at a grounded 200m, though, since outside those bursts he's a skilled but physical archer, not someone reaching across a battlefield.

Which Anime Archers Best Represent Traditional Kyudo?

I built this class in as the deliberate outlier on this page — no combat framing, no fictional weapon system, just form, the hanare release, and the psychological grind of target panic. I keep their Base DPS ratings lowest of any class here on purpose, because the source material is never staging these two for a fight. If you want the real, non-anime version of this discipline, the International Kyudo Federation governs the modern sport these two characters are drawing from, and our own Legendary Archers of All Time piece covers the historical figures behind it.

Minato Narumiya (Tsurune) — Form, Release and the Return From Target Panic

Minato Narumiya stat card — Tsurune, Traditional Kyudo class, 40 DPS, 28m range, 30 armor piercing, 68 tactical IQ

Minato is the protagonist of Tsurune: The Linking Shot, a Kyudo archer who develops hostility — the anime's dramatized name for target panic, a documented real-world archery affliction where a shooter can no longer release cleanly at full draw. The show stages this as a psychological arc, not a power-up, which is why his 30 Armor Piercing rating and 28m effective range track an actual Kyudo target distance rather than a dramatized combat figure.

Most fight anime treat a bow like a gun with a string: point, release, done. Tsurune doesn't, and that's the whole reason I respect it. The hanare, or release, is supposed to happen almost involuntarily once the draw reaches its natural conclusion, not as a conscious "letting go" — get that timing wrong in real Kyudo, or on a target range with any bow, and the shot falls apart no matter how good your form looked a half-second earlier.

Yoichi Suketaka Nasu (Tsurune) — Rival Form and Competitive Pressure

Yoichi Suketaka Nasu stat card — Tsurune, Traditional Kyudo class, 42 DPS, 28m range, 32 armor piercing, 66 tactical IQ

Yoichi is Minato's rival archer across the same series, sharing the historical name of the real Battle of Yashima archer Nasu no Yoichi without claiming to be him. His narrative role is competitive-pressure performance under an audience, the Kyudo equivalent of a tournament archer choking on the final end rather than a battlefield encounter.

Both Tsurune archers cap out under 45 Armor Piercing in this model specifically because the show never gives them a target that needs piercing — their entire skill ceiling is measured in scored rings, not damage output, which is the honest answer for why this class rates lowest on the comparison matrix below.

Which Anime Archers Wield Fantasy or Magical Weapons?

This is the class where lore accuracy gives way to explicit reality-bending, and where I test this page's own Base DPS ceiling. EMIYA and Madoka Kaname both clear 90+ Base DPS because their equipment removes physical constraints — draw weight, arrow mass, drag — that cap every other class on this page.

Archer / EMIYA (Fate/stay night) — Projection Magic and Unlimited Blade Works

EMIYA (Archer) stat card — Fate/stay night, Fantasy/Magical Weapon class, 94 DPS, 1200m range, 92 armor piercing, 97 tactical IQ

EMIYA is the Archer-class Servant across Type-Moon's Fate franchise, whose Projection Magic — copying and manifesting any weapon he has ever "recorded," inside his own Reality Marble, Unlimited Blade Works — lets him materialize Noble Phantasm-tier arrows on demand rather than carrying a physical quiver. There's no drag coefficient to model on a projected weapon, because it isn't decelerating through air the way a fletched shaft does — it's a copied concept moving at whatever velocity the projection assigns it.

A real broadhead's kinetic energy is capped by mass times velocity squared, full stop — that's why his 1,200m range and 94 Base DPS both sit near the top of the matrix. A projected Noble Phantasm's "kinetic energy" answers to EMIYA's own magical circuits instead of physics, which is the in-universe reason this class outranks everyone else on this page. Unlimited Blade Works never quite explains where the Prana to keep doing this comes from mid-fight, and I'll admit that's the one hole in his sheet I can't stat around.

Madoka Kaname (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) — Reality-Bending Ballistics

Madoka Kaname stat card — Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fantasy/Magical Weapon class, 100 DPS, 2000m range, 95 armor piercing, 85 tactical IQ

Madoka is the title character of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, whose ascension into a conceptual, reality-spanning being at the series' end includes a bow-and-arrow motif used to erase witches across all of time rather than a single target at a single distance. This is the one entry on the matrix the model deliberately caps at 100 Base DPS and 2,000m range — the slider's own maximum — instead of attempting to quantify a narrative event that operates outside cause-and-effect.

Community discussion threads consistently flag her as an "asterisk" entry for exactly this reason: comparing her ascension-form arrow to a fight at a specific meter distance is treated as a category error, not a data point, which is why the case study below uses EMIYA against Uryu Ishida instead of against Madoka.

Who Are Anime's Best Tactical and Survivalist Archers?

Tactical and survivalist archers trade raw power for fieldcraft, stealth and a physical draw-weight ceiling that's actually consistent with a real hunting or war bow — no Reishi, no projection magic bailing anyone out. I still remember the first time I pulled a 70-pound recurve at full draw as a teenager, arm shaking, absolutely convinced I'd misjudged the whole thing; that ceiling is real, and it's exactly what this class respects that the other three don't have to. Asirpa rates highest on Tactical IQ at 90, reflecting authentic Ainu hunting technique rather than a combat stat.

Yona (Yona of the Dawn) — Adaptive Fieldcraft Across Terrain

Yona stat card — Yona of the Dawn, Tactical/Survivalist class, 55 DPS, 120m range, 48 armor piercing, 76 tactical IQ

Yona is the exiled princess turned archer at the center of Mizuho Kusanagi's Yona of the Dawn, trained out of necessity rather than tradition after fleeing her kingdom. Her 120m effective range and 55 Base DPS sit mid-pack because her arc is explicitly about compounding, realistic improvement — closer to a bowhunter's first full season than a power fantasy.

Her real strength in this model is adaptability across the terrain selector in the Live Combat Simulator near the top of this page: she loses the least accuracy of any Tactical/Survivalist archer when the terrain switches from Open Field to Dense Forest, reflecting a character written to keep functioning as her surroundings change.

Asirpa (Golden Kamuy) — Authentic Ainu Hunting Technique

Asirpa stat card — Golden Kamuy, Tactical/Survivalist class, 58 DPS, 90m range, 45 armor piercing, 90 tactical IQ

Asirpa is an Ainu hunter in Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy, and the series is repeatedly cited across hunting and archery forums for depicting real Ainu fieldcraft — reading animal sign, wind, and cover — rather than a stylized fantasy version of it. Her 45 Armor Piercing rating is the lowest of any archer on this page by design; the show is not staging her for armored combat, it's staging her for putting meat on the table.

Her 90 Tactical IQ is the highest of any archer in the matrix, and it's earned the way a real bowhunter earns a short, high-percentage shot: stalking distance down before ever drawing, rather than relying on range or power to close the gap.

Sasha Braus (Attack on Titan) — Fieldcraft Under Combat Stress

Sasha Braus stat card — Attack on Titan, Tactical/Survivalist class, 52 DPS, 130m range, 50 armor piercing, 79 tactical IQ

Sasha is a soldier archer in Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan, introduced through hunting rather than military training, and her fieldcraft carries over directly once she's fighting Titans instead of deer. Her 130m effective range and 52 Base DPS reflect a soldier's bow used under sustained stress rather than a hunter's single calm shot.

Her 79 Tactical IQ sits just behind Asirpa's, and community threads on r/ShingekiNoKyojin consistently credit her survival instincts — noticing threats before the group does — as her defining trait over any single feat of marksmanship. That's the underrated skill in real bowhunting too: reading the situation before you ever draw beats a stronger pull every time.

Sinon / Shino Asada (Sword Art Online) — A Sniper's Mindset, Translated Into a Bow

Sinon (Shino Asada) stat card — Sword Art Online, Tactical/Survivalist class, 62 DPS, 300m range, 55 armor piercing, 88 tactical IQ

Sinon, real name Shino Asada, is the marksman at the center of the Gun Gale Online arc of Sword Art Online, and I want to flag something before rating her: in canon, her signature weapon is a Hecate II anti-materiel rifle, not a bow. She earned that rifle by sniping a boss from far outside its own attack range, after a childhood robbery left her with a lasting fear of guns that she worked through by mastering the thing that scared her from the safest possible distance.

I'm translating that exact profile — extreme range, extreme patience, almost no interest in a close fight — onto a bow for this page, since it's the archery-equivalent skill set to what she actually has. Her 62 Base DPS is modest on purpose; her 88 Tactical IQ, the highest of any Tactical/Survivalist archer here, is where her real character shows up.

Kazuma Satou (KonoSuba) — Snipe, Steal and Winning Ugly

Kazuma Satou stat card — KonoSuba, Tactical/Survivalist class, 45 DPS, 90m range, 38 armor piercing, 84 tactical IQ

Kazuma is the isekai protagonist of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba), and unlike most of his cast, he does canonically fight with a bow alongside his short sword, aimed using his Snipe skill for a guaranteed-hit precision shot. He can't learn the flashier advanced skills the rest of his party gets, so the show is explicit that Snipe and Steal are load-bearing for him, not backup options.

45 Base DPS. Lowest of anyone on this page, and it should be — that's the entire joke his character is built on. But I still gave him 84 Tactical IQ, second only to Sinon in this class, because nearly every fight he wins comes down to a trick, a distraction, or one well-placed shot instead of a stat advantage. Winning ugly is still winning.

How Do the Top Anime Archers Compare at a Glance?

Every rating below is my own synthesized model — lore feats and community power-scaling consensus translated into the same scale a real spec sheet would use — not a claim about objective, cross-canon combat fact. Armor Piercing Tier reflects effectiveness against physical armor; the Live Combat Simulator near the top of this page applies a separate magic-resistance modifier when a target is itself mystical or magical.

🗣️ Community Consensus & Synthesis Grid
  • Reddit/Discord Sentiment: Aggregated from power-scaling threads across r/Fate, r/anime and Type-Moon Discord servers, EMIYA is the most frequently cited "top combat archer" pick that stays within a non-godlike, non-narrative-outlier framing.
  • Top Praised Feature: Kyudo-community crossover threads consistently single out Tsurune's hanare animation and its handling of target panic as the most technically accurate archery depiction across the entries covered here.
  • Common Friction Point: The most repeated complaint across generic "anime archers ranked" lists is exactly the gap this page targets — mixing Kyudo-accurate characters with reality-warping finales on one flat, unranked list with no separation by class or engagement context.

Field Simulation Case Study: EMIYA vs. Uryu Ishida at 500 Meters

I wanted a data point that doesn't already exist anywhere else on the open web, so I ran the Live Combat Simulator's own scoring formula 1,000 times for a fixed matchup: EMIYA (Archer) against Uryu Ishida, engagement distance locked at 500 meters, Urban Area terrain. Each iteration applies a small randomized jitter (±8%) to both combatants' effective Base DPS to model in-universe inconsistency between fights, then re-runs the full distance-decay, terrain-multiplier and armor-piercing-vs-magic-resistance formula described in the Simulation Methodology section earlier on this page.

Field Simulation Case Study: EMIYA vs. Uryu Ishida at 500 Meters

No-jitter combat score103.762.2
Win rate across 1,000 jittered runsMean 62.5% for EMIYA · range 58.7%–66.0% across all 1,000 iterations

At 500m, neither archer is actually past their effective range yet — EMIYA's Projection Magic is rated for 1,200m and Uryu's Reishi coherence for 850m — so this matchup is decided entirely by the Armor Piercing gap (92 vs. 78) and the Tactical IQ gap (97 vs. 74), not by distance decay. That's a detail most existing "who would win" lists skip by jumping straight to a single verdict with no variable breakdown. Community power-scaling consensus broadly agrees with the direction of this result — EMIYA favored, Uryu competitive rather than outclassed — while flagging the same Armor-Piercing-vs-Magic-Resistance interaction as the deciding factor over raw power alone.

Rerunning the same matchup at 900m — just past Uryu's 850m Reishi range, still inside EMIYA's 1,200m — widens the gap to roughly 65/35 in EMIYA's favor, since Uryu's side now pays a distance-decay penalty EMIYA doesn't face at that range yet. You can test that yourself, and any other matchup, distance or terrain, in the Live Combat Simulator near the top of this page.

🛠️ Keep Testing the Real Numbers

Anime archers get a fictional Base DPS rating — real arrows get an actual chronographed one. If the simulator above has you curious what your own bow's kinetic energy and momentum would look like on the same kind of scale, the real calculators I built for this site run the identical KE = ½mv² physics without the Reishi.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the strongest anime archer of all time?

By the stat model on this page, EMIYA (Archer) from Fate/stay night rates highest on raw combat score, since Projection Magic lets him manifest Noble Phantasm-tier arrows with no physical draw-weight ceiling. That ranking deliberately excludes Madoka Kaname's reality-altering ascension-form arrow as a narrative outlier rather than a combat statistic, the same way community power-scaling threads on Reddit and Type-Moon wikis usually treat it. Run her against EMIYA in the Live Combat Simulator above, though, and she can still win — the simulator is a straight stat calculator with no narrative exclusions built in, so that head-to-head result and this page's "strongest overall" ranking are answering two different questions on purpose.

Which anime accurately represents traditional Japanese archery (Kyudo)?

Tsurune is the anime most consistently cited across Kyudo and archery-adjacent forums for its accurate depiction of form, the hanare release, and target panic (called "Kyudo yips" in some Western threads). Minato Narumiya and Yoichi Suketaka Nasu are both built around that psychological-focus theme rather than combat power, which is the opposite design goal of the fantasy archers on this list.

Who is the best tactical survival archer in anime?

Community consensus across Discord and Reddit fieldcraft discussions splits between Asirpa from Golden Kamuy, credited for authentic Ainu hunting technique, and Sasha Braus from Attack on Titan, credited for practical fieldcraft under combat stress. Yona from Yona of the Dawn is usually ranked just behind both on raw technique, but ahead on adaptability across changing terrain.

How does the Live Combat Simulator calculate a win percentage?

It multiplies each archer's base DPS rating by an exponential distance-decay factor once the engagement distance exceeds their effective range, applies a terrain multiplier for Open Field, Dense Forest or Urban Area, adjusts armor-piercing against the opponent's magic resistance or physical defense, and then normalizes both resulting combat scores into a win-percentage split. The full formula is broken down in the Simulation Methodology section above.

Do mystical or spiritual archers ever run out of arrows?

In most source material, no — Reishi-based Quincy archers like Uryu Ishida and miko-trained archers like Kagome Higurashi manifest their arrows from spiritual energy rather than carrying a physical quiver, so the constraint isn't ammunition count but the archer's own stamina or spiritual reserves running low over a long fight.
