Privacy Policy

1 · Who is responsible

ArcheryEra (“the site”, “I”) is run by Burak, the sole operator, at info@archeryera.com. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, I am the data controller. Write to that address for anything in this document, including requests to see or delete your data.

2 · What I collect, and why

Browsing the site and using the tools

Nothing that identifies you. The calculators run entirely in your browser; the numbers you type in are never sent anywhere. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, page requested) are kept by the hosting provider for security and are deleted on their normal cycle.

Tool reviews and blog comments

These are stored in your own browser’s local storage, not on a server. You can post under any name or anonymously — no email address is collected. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them from that device. If a comment is later published on the site by me, it carries whatever name you chose to give it, or none.

The contact form

If you use it, the name, email address and message you type are sent to Formspree, a third-party form-processing service, which forwards them to my inbox. Legal basis: it is the only way for me to reply to you. See Formspree’s own privacy policy for how they handle that submission in transit.

The email newsletter

If you enter your email address in one of the newsletter sign-up boxes on the site, it is sent to MailerLite, a third-party email marketing service, along with the time and page you signed up from. You will get one confirmation email (double opt-in) before anything else is sent, and after that only occasional updates about new tools — no more than a few emails a month, and no other list you did not sign up for. Legal basis: your consent, given when you opt in and confirm. Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom; clicking it removes you immediately, no login needed. You can also ask me directly at the address above to have the address deleted from MailerLite rather than just unsubscribed.

If you buy me a coffee

Support is entirely optional and buys nothing on the site. If you choose to send one, the payment provider you use (for example Stripe, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal) handles your payment details directly. I never see your card number.

3 · Who else touches your data

Only the suppliers needed to run the site:

• Hosting — serves the static site and keeps standard security logs.
• Google Analytics — measures visits: which pages get read, roughly where from and on what device. Google acts as a processor under its own data-processing terms.
• Formspree — processes contact form submissions and forwards them to me by email.
• MailerLite — stores your email address if you sign up for the newsletter, sends the confirmation and any later emails on my behalf, and processes unsubscribes. See MailerLite’s own privacy policy for how they handle it.
• A payment provider, only if you choose to buy a coffee.
• Amazon Associates — some product pages include Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon may set its own tracking cookie on your device to attribute a purchase to this site. I don’t control that cookie and never see your Amazon order details — see Amazon’s own privacy notice for how they handle it.

I do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Beyond the Amazon affiliate cookie described above, there are no advertising networks and no data brokers involved in this site. Analytics data is used to understand traffic, not to build a profile of you or to sell anything to you.

4 · Cookies and local storage

The site uses Google Analytics, which sets a small number of first-party cookies (names starting _ga) to tell repeat visits apart from new ones and to measure how the site is used. It does not identify you by name, and I never see individual visitors — only aggregate numbers like page views and traffic sources.

Separately, your browser’s local storage is used to remember any comments you have drafted, entirely on your own device — I cannot see or collect this.

If you click an Amazon affiliate link on a product page, Amazon may set its own third-party cookie to track that the referral came from this site, governed by Amazon’s own cookie policy rather than mine. I have no access to that cookie or to what it collects.

If you are in the UK or EU and would rather not be measured by Analytics, install your browser vendor’s tracking-protection feature or an extension such as uBlock Origin, which blocks Google Analytics by default; nothing on the site stops working without it.

5 · How long I keep it

• Contact form messages — kept in my inbox for as long as is useful to resolve the matter, then deleted.
• Newsletter subscriber emails — kept in MailerLite for as long as you stay subscribed. Unsubscribing stops future emails immediately; if you want the address itself deleted rather than just unsubscribed, email me at the address above.
• Server logs — typically 30 days.
• Anything stored in your own browser — until you clear it. I never receive it unless you separately email me.

6 · Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of any data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Email info@archeryera.com. I will answer within 30 days, and there is no charge. If you are unhappy with the outcome you can complain to your national data protection authority.

7 · Children

This site is not aimed at children under 16. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, email me and it will be deleted.

8 · Security

Traffic runs over HTTPS. No system is perfect; if a breach affects data I hold, I will tell you and the relevant authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

9 · Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
